Charity Work
Stevenson Brothers are proud to support a variety of charities and has recently had the pleasure of working with the following organisations:
The Royal Hospital Chelsea
Poppy was made by Stevenson Brothers to raise money towards the refurbishment of the Long Ward at The Royal Hospital Chelsea. This horse will be on our stand during the RHS Chelsea Flower Show when on Saturday afternoon, Alan Titchmarsh will draw the winning ticket. Raffle tickets can be purchased directly from the Royal Hospital stand at Chelsea or via their web site.
Glasgow University
Commissioned by Mrs Blair to raise funds for Glasgow University's Equine Department. Made in Burr Oak from Blenheim Palace. Fitted with Kicking King's reins, Desert Orchid's browband, Rough Quest's stirrups, Party Politics's shoes and hair from 12 Grand National winners. This beautiful horse sold for £35,000.
Mrs Blair then asked to make a special car. The Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Alpine Eagle was made in polished aluminium with parts from the first Rolls Royce engine ever built, mounted under the bonnet, kindly donated to us by the Classic Car restorers Paul & Andrew Woods. It was dispalyed at their 100 year Celebration of the Silver Ghost and was sold to a collector for £50,000.
The British Horse Society
Stevenson Brothers were proud to donate a rocking horse to an auction held in October 2010 to raise money for the British Horse Society. The horse was based on Lucinda Frederick’s Headley Britannia and incorporates one of her shoes and a lock of her tail hair in the design. After some fierce bidding, the rocking horse was sold for £4,500.

At the 2010 Aspinall Foundation charity ball, a Stevenson Brothers rocking zebra, signed by Joanna Lumley, was auctioned. Bearing the inscription “Rock On Sweetie, love from Joanna Lumley” and endowed with a secret locking compartment, the zebra fetched £4,000.
Help for Heroes
Over the past year, Stevenson Brothers have auctioned three horses for Help For Heroes. Collectively these have raised over £12,000. A Dapple grey was made for the Horses for Heroes event at Windsor Castle on 21st May 2010, raising £4,000.
The Starlight Foundation
In 2009, Stevenson Brothers made a Vivienne Westwood designed rocking horse that was auctioned to make money for the Starlight Foundation. The charity grants wishes to seriously ill children, and the rocking horse, named the Punk Rocker, fetched a cool £10,500.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust
Every two years the CF Trust committee organise their Sixty Five Roses Ball at wonderful locations in London including The Mansion House. Vital funds are raised for essential research to find a cure for this cruel disease. We are very pleased to be involved in our small way and Rocking Horses have been auctioned for sums from £4,500 to £6,000 over the years.
Caudwell Children
The very special work financed by this Charity for children with special needs is truly inspirational. We made two horses for the Rock Ball at the Natural History Museum, the horses achieved £45,000 between them and the auction lots on the night raised £1.2M a most outstanding acheivement.
