Magna Carta Horse
A number of English Walnut Trees were planted on Runnymede Island, in the middle of the River Thames, to celebrate the momentous signing of Magna Carta in 1215 by King John. We were offered one of these ancient trees in 2002 and once milled and dried we have made it into 10 special rocking horses.
The Magna Carta seal has been recreated in silver then gold plated and fitted to front of the martingale.
The leather work was specially commissioned and made by the Royal Horse Artillery saddlers and two of King John’s Royal standards have been embroidered on the gold edged saddle cloth. The tack is removable to allow the beautiful grain of the walnut to be fully appreciated.
Estimated price £10,000 SOLD OUT
